Sin City

The neon lights fade
Thier warm auras flicker
And glow
With the warmth of thier electronic souls

The disolving amber highlights of a dying sunset
Give way to a hot empty twighlight
That finds me alone and amid the many

This squalid splendor I call home
They say this city is the city of sin
If that is so
I say sin deep my wicked angel

In all these familiar sounds
I find silence in myself
With all the hustle and bustle
I find myself in sorrow
But at piece

The neon lights
They fade to the comfoting front porch lights of my childhood homes
The dying sunset paints a picture
Of how many lives indistinctly touch my own

These forgotten byways
Are my ways home and to anywhere I want to go
This cocophany of noise is sweet music to my ears

If it is a sin to love this place
Then I'm going to sin
to do it again
And in so many other ways
